Eligibility for Opening an Account

  • Be a resident in Sri Lanka
  • Be a person above 18 years of age
  • Be a citizen of Sri Lanka
  • Have a valid National Identity Card (NIC)

Steps to Apply for an Account

  • Select the preferred account product under relevant resident type
  • Read the Product features & Accept Terms and Conditions
  • Start the journey for opening the account
  • Enter the OTP which you received to your mobile number for user authentication
  • Insert required information for opening the account
  • Capture your Selfie, Upload required and supporting documents
  • Select your preferred verification (Video Call/ Branch Visit) mode and a time for a Video interview if you have selected Video Call option

What You Will Need to Know about The Account Opening Process

  • The bank initiates a video call at the time you have made the appointment for Video verification.
  • You need to be ready with the NIC (and passport for non-residents), Address Verification/ Billing Proof document if your resident address differs from permanent address, Salary Slip (if requested during the interview), pen and paper to confirm the signature
  • If the Bank is unable to reach you at the given appointment time, the Bank will contact you to get an alternative time to schedule the call.
  • Bank will validate your NIC information with Department of Registration of Persons (DRP) system according to the guidelines of Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) if you have selected Video Call option to open the account
  • Customers shall be subject to the Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and General Terms and Conditions of the Bank regulations.
