Sustainable Development Goals 4 : Quality Education

Facilitating the career paths and opportunities for our next generation of young workers, employers and leaders, by funding training and scholarships is a priority for the Bank, in its commitment to moulding a new generation responsible for a sustainable lifestyle.

University students, audit trainees and youth just out of secondary school have been recipients of the Banks’s funding for diverse training programs. The Nana-jaya scholarship scheme and Nana Mihira scholarship seminars are two flagship programs of the Bank with a wide outreach.

With its proactive approach to green initiatives and sustainability, the Bank’s drive to educate university students on Banking and Sustainability has gathered momentum over the past few years. Industry specialists are being hired to speak to undergraduates on relevant topics like, Sustainable Banking practices, GRI reporting and resource Management. BOC supports a series of “Green Talks” university Webinars.
