SMELoC - Tea Smallholder Credit Line

Tea Smallholder Credit Line & JFPR Component to increase tea leaf production by way of new planting, replanting, infilling, nursery development, irrigation, water and soil management

Eligibility

Tea smallholder less than 50 acres
Recommendation of;
Tea Small Holdings Development Authority – if less than 10 acres
Sri Lanka Tea Board – if less than 50 acres

Maximum Loan Amount

Rs. 30.0 Mn. (maximum loan amount for credit facilities which are eligible for grant component is Rs. 5.0 Mn.)

Repayment Period

10 Years (if machinery – life time)

Special Conditions

Eligibility criteria for grant component

The maximum extent of the Tea cultivation land should be below 10 Acre
Grant component will be provided for Tea new plantation and replantation
The maximum loan size to be eligible for grant is Rs. 5.0 Mn and the maximum loan grant component is Rs. 1.0 Mn.
Early settlement will not be allowed for borrowers, who have obtained the grant component
