As part of a strengthened collaboration to empower Sri Lankan migrant workers, the Bank of Ceylon and the Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation (SLECIC) relaunched the APARA Credit Guarantee Facility through a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The initiative introduces revised terms, enhanced convenience, and wider global coverage for prospective migrant employees.

The occasion was graced by the senior leadership teams of both institutions, including Prof. Aruna Shanthaarachchi, Chairman/Managing Director; Mr. M. R. U. I. Subhasinghe, General Manager; and Mr. Mohan Silva, Deputy General Manager (Operations) from SLECIC, together with Mr. Kavinda de Zoysa, Chairman; Mr. Y. A. Jayathilaka, General Manager/CEO; and Mr. G. A. Jayashantha, Deputy General Manager (International, Treasury & Investment) from the Bank of Ceylon, along with several other officials representing both parties.

This timely initiative enables easier access to pre-departure credit facilities backed by SLECIC’s guarantee, offering greater confidence and peace of mind to customers islandwide.
