Reflecting its continued commitment to environmental sustainability, Bank of Ceylon (BOC) recently launched a beach cleanup initiative at the Palangathure Beach in Negombo.
The programme was organised by the Sustainable Banking Unit of Bank of Ceylon in collaboration with the Divisional Secretariat Negombo , Municipal Council Negombo, Department of Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management, Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), Office of the Chief Public Health Inspector (PHI) Negombo, Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Police, Hotel Owners’ Association, Ocean University of Sri Lanka, Harischandra National School, Ernst & Young (EY), and Biodiversity Sri Lanka. The initiative brought together a large number of schoolchildren, volunteers and members of the local community.
Marking Bank of Ceylon’s participation in this significant environmental initiative, General Manager/Chief Executive Officer Y. A. Jayathilaka, Chief Operating Officer R. M. N. Jeewantha, together with the corporate and executive management and branch staff, actively participated in the programme.
The initiative reflects Bank of Ceylon’s commitment to the long-term conservation of Sri Lanka’s coastline and its ongoing efforts to support environmental sustainability. BOC extends its appreciation to all those who joined hands in making this initiative a success.
