Dr. M K C Senanayake
Ex-officio Director
Dr. Kapila Senanayake currently serves as the Director General of the Department of Fiscal Policy of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, Policy Formulation, Planning and Tourism. He also serves as an ex-officio member at the Board of Governors of the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka.
Dr. Senanayake holds a PhD in Economics from the University of New South Wales, Australia, Master of Public Policy from Graduate School of Business Strategy, Hitotsubashi University, Japan and Bachelor of Commerce (Special) Degree, with a Second Class (Upper Division) from University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Management and Administration from Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) and Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.
Dr. Senanayake has also served as a Director of National Savings Bank and it’s Board Sub Committees viz; Board Integrated Risk Management Committee, Board Audit Committee and Nomination Committee. He has also been a Director of Hotel Developers (Lanka) Ltd, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, University Grant Commission, Post Graduate Institute of English, Sri Lanka Institute of Local Governance and Lanka Coal (Pvt) Ltd.
In addition, he served as a Director, Deputy Director (Acting), Assistant Director in the Department of Fiscal Policy at the Government Treasury and he was an Assistant Director of Department of National Planning at Ministry of Finance and Planning.
Dr. Senanayake has also contributed to many international and local publications relevant to his expertise. He has made presentations at international seminars and conferences held all over the world. He has gained teaching experience at the University of New South Wales, Australia.
