Optimizing the Website for Easier Viewing

If you have trouble seeing the Bank of Ceylon website clearly on your screen, you can adjust your web browser settings to improve accessibility.

Changing Visibility Features

These tips can improve the visibility of any website you visit. Keep in mind that some website features might not be compatible with these changes, and images might not be affected. These instructions are general and might need slight adjustments depending on your browser.

Making Font and Color Changes Permanent

  1. Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
  2. On the General tab, click Accessibility.
  3. Check the boxes for the three options to enable them permanently.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.

Using Easier-to-Read Fonts

Sans serif fonts like Arial are generally easier to read than serif fonts like Times New Roman. Here's how to change the font:

  1. Go to the View menu and select Text size.
  2. Choose the desired text size.

Adjusting Text and Background Colors

Some websites use color combinations that make the text difficult to read. You can change these colors to improve contrast. For instance, black text on a yellow background provides good contrast.

  1. Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
  2. On the General tab, click Colors.
  3. Uncheck the box for "Use Windows colors."
  4. Select the box next to "Text" and choose a preferred color.
  5. Click OK to save the text color change.
  6. Select the box next to "Background" and choose a preferred color.
  7. Click OK to save the background color change.

Hiding Graphics

If you find website graphics distracting, you can disable them:

  1. Go to Tools and select Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, scroll down to the Multimedia section.
  3. Uncheck the boxes for the graphics options you want to hide (animations, videos, pictures).
  4. Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.
  5. If graphics are still visible, refresh the page by clicking the refresh button on the toolbar or pressing F5.

Changing Window Size

You can enlarge the window for better viewing:

  1. Go to the View menu and select Full Screen or press F11 on your keyboard.

Additional Accessibility Options

Your browser might offer more options to customize web pages for easier reading. These can often be found under the Tools menu:

  1. Go to Tools and select Internet Options.
  2. Select the Advanced tab.
  3. Explore the available options to improve web page visibility.
