Bank of Ceylon encourages promoting savings habits among children below 18 years of age with a higher interest rate payable than the normal savings rate of interest  A cash deposit of Rs.200/- or Ran Kekulu gift voucher would be accepted as a minimum deposit at any branch.

Benefits

• Award of Scholarship to Year 5 students (Minimum balance Rs.2500/- before the date of examination).

• A higher rate of interest (1% above the rate payable to normal savings accounts).

• Accounts will be transferred to 18+ category automatically at the age of 18 years.

• Exciting gifts and seasonal offers

• The maximum insurance cover of Rs. 500,000/- in the event of the death of the parent/guardian who opened the account (minimum balance of Rs.5000/- to be maintained for a period for 6 months prior to the date of the death).

• Medical insurance upto Rs. 75,000/- per annum in case of accident or illness requiring hospitalisation (minimum balance of Rs. 5000/- for a period of six months prior to the date of accident/illness).
