BOC encourage promoting saving habits from the childhood among Children below 18 years of age with an interest rate higher than the normal rate. A cash deposit of Rs. 200 or Ran Kakulu Gift Voucher would be accepted as Minimum initial Deposit at any branch.
 
Bank of Ceylon School Savings Units - Ran Kekulu Sansadaya


Bank of Ceylon encourages school children to save in Ran Kekulu Children Savings Accounts through formation of School Savings Units (SSU) which are known as Ran Kekulu Sansadaya.  This will enable all school children to inculcate savings habits and knowledge in banking activities.  Students are trained to hold responsibilities by themselves.

The schools where School Savings Units are functioning will receive Bank of Ceylon assistance in numerous ways.

(RKFC)

  • Those Children  who are below 18 years and parents are employed in abroad ( those whether resident in Sri Lanka or abroad may be opened.)
  • The account could  be converted to NRFC or RFC account after 18 years of age automatically.

Just walk into a BOC branch and open accounts for your children between 14 and 18 years of age with an initial deposit of Rs. 500.

The consent of the parent or guardian is required.  This is a unique savings scheme ideal for teenagers which could be operated by themselves.
