Security measures BoC takes to protect you:
| |
We use 128-bit Verisign EVSSL Extended Validation Secure Sockets Layer Encryption technology , which is accepted as the industry standard level. Customer Confidence in the Green Address Bar technology is used within your Internet Banking session to encrypt your personal information before it leaves your computer in order to ensure no one else can read it. Depending on your browser setting, a pop-up window will appear to notify you that you will be entering a secured page. |
- Provide two factor authentication
| |
2FA adds a layer of security by requiring users to employ a credential
such as a hardware token that generates the security code to access online accounts, in addition to a username and password. Two-factor authentication virtually eliminates security problems associated with using passwords alone.
The VeriSign Identity Protection Authentication Service validates security codes that the hardware token generates. Each time a user authenticates, first the user enters a standard password, then the user presses a button on the hardware token. A number displays on the hardware token. Users must input the security code number into the Web application to authenticate him or her self as legitimate users.

After a pre-determined number of unsuccessful attempts to log in, online access to your account will be locked. This will help prevent an unauthorized user trying multiple times to guess your password. To re-activate your account, contact the helpdesk number. |
| |
After a period of inactivity, our system automatically log you off from Boc Online Banking to reduce the risk of anyone else accessing your banking details on your computer. |
- Employing firewalls to prevent unauthorized intrusion and virus scanning software to protect viruses from entering our systems.
